Back from the Dead!

I know no one actually reads this blog, but just in case you're really bored one day or you come across this in one of your emails...I'm alive!

Since the end of BEDA I have horridly ceased to blog or report at all. Some excuses I feel like I must list are:

1. Burnt out by BEDA
2. Uni exams and projects
3. Couldn't think of any topics
4. Just didn't wanna
But let's just ignore those and I'll tell you what I've been up to! I ended school with a fizzle including my first ever all nighter. As in, I didn't sleep for like 30-odd hours and studied through the night with the help of junk food and pop. (egh!) I started up another blog to showcase my jewelry and accessory line. Oh, that just sounds too posh for what it really is, my stuff is in the shabby chic, victorian vintage with modern flair syle. See the Classically Romantic blog for pics and prices! I also started a shop on Etsy by the same name.

On the list of things I started is my psychology internship with Can Do Canines, a non-profit organization that provides a variety of service dogs for people in need of one. My job basically includes doing a lot of administrative organizing and filing. But I have gotten a chance to work with the little puppies! When a new batch of puppies come into the organization they have people volunteer to play with them so they get used to being around new people and around toys and noises and other stuff. From there they are put into puppy raising homes where people volunteer to do basic training with them and house them for a few weeks or months. They are so adorable! Two weeks ago I played with eight little collies and two labs :) The labs, especially the yellow one, looked just like the Cottonelle toilet paper puppies! Also, besides the puppies, the staff bring their dogs to work and they sit in their offices with them. And there are two cats that live in the building to ensure that the dogs are used to cats when they are assigned puppy raising and service homes. There is a black one named Brennen and a tabby-ish one named..."kitty". "Kitty" is now currently sitting in the outgoing main box. Brennen is no doubtedly bothering someone about their lunch.

The End of BEDA

April 30th dawns. The official end of Blog Every Day in April. And of course here comes my reflection on the challenge. First of all, did I do it? YES! I did in fact make it through with less complications than I thought.

What did I expect BEDA to be like:
Well, I had to post something every day for the month of April so I thought it was going to be a huge struggle for me. Like would I have time? What would I write about? Would anyone read them? As it turns out I only truly ran out of time on two occasions, but was able to put in another entry soon after. It wasn't as hard as I thought by a long shot. I actually didn't mind writing because it was something that I could just do and get words on a page...well a virtual page. I did find some difficulty in coming up with topics. I'm not someone who usually spouts off random, unimportant things especially in a public blog. But honestly, when you have to write something or at least post something, you're not going to have something intelligent to add every single time. Sometimes my entries were just pictures of amazing dream homes, but for this purpose, I'm okay with that. In the future I'm going to stick with my smarter ideas with some more substance. And to the question of anyone reading them, no one really reads my blog to begin with except a friend or two on occasion so I wasn't expecting anything different. And it was true.

You probably wont hear from me for a while now, I'm definitely going to take a break. But the next entry will be better, something truly entertaining and stimulating. of course now that I've promised that it'll be the dumbest thing you've ever read. Now off to watch a movie :)

Thanks for reading!
That's it for BEDA!

Unfortunate Anecdotes of My Life

This will be short and sweet.

Today I had a final test for my ballet course at school. The question was name two famous ballet dancers or choreographers. I know at least two but was having a really difficult time coming up with the names, they were on the tip of my tongue but just would not make an appearance on the page! I knew the ballerina's name started with a P and was some sort of Russian or Czech sounding name. So I started saying a bunch of names I knew starting with P...Palestrina, Peder, Pavlov...

The first is a composer, the second a cousin of one of my friends, the third a behavioral psychologist who conditioned dogs using certain stimuli. I kind of made something up and handed in my test. Later I googled famous ballerinas to find out what the name was. Sadly, as you may have guessed by now it was Pavlova. Wouldn't you have thought that thinking 'Pavlov' would have rung the bell for memory? Ironically Pavlov was the psychologist who conditioned animals to salivate at the sound of a bell or via other stimuli, the sound would trigger a memory or sensation and the correct response of drooling was brought forth. This trigger failed me to remember that the name I was searching for was this psychologist's name plus an 'a' on the end. FAIL.
